2009-05-01 Karen and Rudi – Oakfield Farm, Muldersdrift

As mentioned in a previous post, we did the decor of both weddings at Oakfield farm, this particular autumn day. Both couples had a similar colour scheme, the same vases, similar flowers, but the overall feeling and mood created by each, was completely different to the other.

Karen and Rudi are both South African born, but are living in the UK. So all of the planning was done by email and the odd phone call. Whilst we are confident in our ability to deliver such weddings, it is always nerve wracking when you meet the bride for the first time on the day of her wedding – as it really is too late to change anything then…

However, Karen had a wonderful bridesmaid locally, who was able to attend a mockup at Oakfield on her behalf and then kindly emailed her all of the photos of the mockup to make sure her friend did not get a nasty surprise on her wedding day. Luckily our interpretation of the flowers at the mockup and on the day was correct – Phew… a sigh of relief. Karen was a stunning bride – petite and pretty, but full of personality. Her professional photos (the few that I saw on the photographers blog) look amazing.

I had left my camera at home this day, so did not get any photo’s of the wedding, which was quite sad, as there were a few things we had done that day which were new decor items and we really wanted photos of them. Nevertheless, these pictures were taken on the day with a (sad, bad) borrowed camera or are from the mockup – but we hope they give a sense of what the wedding was like.

2009-07-02 Hooray – Monica Dart, who photographed Karen’s wedding has just sent me some professional photo’s of this wedding! And they are stunning, Thanks Monica!
